Works and history

I became interested in large-format drawings on the walls when I was a teenager. The first bright, most memorable encounters with large drawings took place abroad. In the city of Glasgow, Scotland I first saw Smug One, who went on to become a world-renowned artist, creations on large city walls. In Paris, I watched the "Underground effect" at the street art festival incredibly interesting processes as drawn by internationally recognized artists. Later I tried to repaint with spray cans and interpret the creations on the walls in my own way. I did well, but later, at one stage of my life, when I was searching for my own style, I decided to burn my emotions with fire on the wall, so I could creatively rise from the ashes like a phoenix! That time I discovered fire as a way of artistic expression, which I also use I am still improving all the time!

First graffiti mural

I started my creative path in the field of street art, drawing on the wall. I think "Graffiti lion" was my first work as an artist that I created first once I felt myself pouring on the wall, bursting with paint from bottles

My first attempt at creating with fire took place in 2019. I decided to depict a crow, because this particular bird is close to my being, like a symbol and personification of myself. Once I thought that an artistic "explosion" of a crow on the wall was the best idea, I started to think, about what way could I create a burnt silhouette of a bird on the wall. I chose OSB boards: from them, I cut out the silhouette of a crow, screwed the panels to the wall, and burned them. This is how the first crow "Crow in the Abandoned" was born in the building". I loved the space where I created my first work: a tattered, abandoned building such as a crow was very suitable.

First fire art

The next attempt to create something by burning was similar to the first because of the used materials: I screwed a wooden board to the wall and burned it so that it produced soot. Then I started experimenting with soot and noticed for the first time: I can create more soot with the tool itself. This is because the tool got a thicker layer of soot, which allowed me to successfully create the desired image - a skull with a hand. So I got some soot playing with fire, oh I created shapes with a brush. After the job was done, I covered the wall with the right paint so the soot would stick better in the long term!

After realizing that fire can leave soot in the "fireworks" I create, I tried experimenting with even more fire. I poured it on the bare wall gasoline and set it on fire, and then I drew the silhouette of a crow with a brush on the sooted area.

It was my first commission work of immortalization which was made during the event organized by the project "European Capital of Culture 2022" On one abandoned. To be as accurate as possible I was asked to use photos from the First World War to depict the real events that took place in that place archive and a photograph of one artist's painting, for this, I am grateful to the director of "Kaunas Fortress Park".

The drawing technique was burning using fire to extract soot and using a brush to create silhouettes and make minimal corrections. This experience is very memorable not only because of the theme and its implementation but also because of the number of viewers: about 100 people watched the process when I was creating the drawing

Commission work

In my studio, I like to use different, but interesting materials like ocher pigments, color smoke grenades, and of course fire!
